Why are my teeth hurting (braces)?

I've had braces for over a year now, I haven't had them tightened or touched or anything for about 3-4 weeks now but today when I was eating I bent the back wire on my bottom row of teeth and I couldn't bend it back so now it's just sitting there bent untill I can go to the dentist next Tuesday.

I didn't think anything of it because I've broke loads of brackets before, once the wire came out at the back, etc but my bottom row of teeth are really aching and they're feeling really sensitive like when I get my braces tightened. Why is this? All I've done is bent the wire.

Why are my teeth hurting (braces)?
if the wire is bent it can do a few things,

1 cut into your gum

2 cut into your cheek

3 your teeth can move in the wrong way at the bend

i am guessing its the 3rd one, as all your teeth are aching, the bend is causing extra pressure on the teeth and will possibly be moving the affected area in the wrong direction.

this movement can make all the other teeth feel achy as a result of this movement. i would not wait till Tuesday to see the orthodontist this is classed as an emergency. please get an appointment tomorrow to have this fixed.
Reply:You may have caught your gum either that or they have moved slightly.
