If I use a mouthwash that whitens teeth with braces on, will I end up with stains when they come off?

I have this mouthwash that you use and then brush your teeth after you spit it out (I think the brand is Listerine but I don't remember exactly) and it whitens your teeth. I have braces too, and I was wondering if it would also whiten the part that the braces cover (the mouthwash is liquid) or if I would end up with darker stains when my braces get removed. Thanks.

When you get the braces off, the cement gets drilled off as well, so you should be ok. Once they do that, your teeth get polished so any uneven coloring should be taken care of.
Reply:My daughter did, but the dentist was able to clean it off...
Reply:Probaby not becaus mouth wash can go under the braces.. but it might leave a small "tanline" on your teeth
Reply:I didnt have stains after they were taken out.nothing happens when you use whitener.
Reply:No, I just got my braces off recently, and after doing that everyday with the mouthwash, there was evenly white around my teeth. I guess that only happens to people that had really yellow(eww gross) teeth before. Braces are a pain huh? lol

Reply:yes u probaly will cause i done that **** before
Reply:I have braces too and my dentist told me it might leave marks if i don't brush and floss normally. Also told me just to make sure i must use mouthwash, floss and brush my teeth for 3 mins 3 times a day and after eating just rinse my mouth to stop the acids in your saliva from eroding my braces.(the 3 mins and 3 times a day is just brushing and flossing if u need to.So in other words it might but if you brush properly it shouldn't.
Reply:yes, but the ortho will whiten the teeth afterwards

its easier to get spots of brown versues a whole brown mouth lol
Reply:it might leave a tan line
