White spots on teeth from braces?
Hi, I'm a dentist.

Bottom line: you're not brushing well enough or properly. Those white spots are areas of decalcification. That's the beginning of a cavity. The only way this happens is if plaque is left on the teeth for too long.

See your dentist and ask for some proper brushing instruction ASAP. If you have a few white spots you can see, there's likely a lot you can't see around the brackets. You need to change your oral hygiene habits immediately to avoid further damage to your teeth!

Good luck.
Reply:you should consult your orthodonist and get fluride
Reply:"white spot lesions" are early signs of tooth decay, make sure you are brushing your teeth well and not having frequent sugary foods.

also see your dentist as things are best treated when they are small
Reply:White spots could be from too much fluoride, too..... but it could be from food getting stuck in there... get one of those brushes to clean under the wires...
