Braces for teeth?

wat happens at my first appointment at the orthodontist for braces? Do they take x-rays or something? How much does this usually cost?

Also, how long do u normally wear braces and how much does it cost in total?

*My teeth arent HORRIBLE, it's just 2 of them are out of ... "line".

Braces for teeth?
The first visit may entail x-rays if you decide to go ahead with the procedure. This costs about $300. The total cost for braces in Canada, is about $4000 to $5000 and takes about 2 - 3 years depending on age.

Reply:ummm they usually just look at your teeth and then decide what you need. but it depends on your teeth. if they arent that bad sometimes the dentist might just decide to use retainers ot something. but again it depends on your teeth so i might be completely off :]]
Reply:depends on what you mean by "first" appointment

i had orthodontist appointments 2-3 years before i actually got braces...although i had to have the whole retainer head gear, basically everything else imagined package. my teeth were terrible so i had surgery on one tooth, and i had my braces for about 2.5 years i believe

i think all together it cost about $5000 for me..
Reply:they usually check your teeth to see what they are going to do.

you usually wear them for 2 yrs, maybe 1.5 if your teeth are okay

mine costed 4,500 bucks

insurace covered a thousand
Reply:at my first appointment they took x-rays.

i had to have mine on for 2 years but all my teeth needed fixing

and mine cost $4000, $5000 counting the down payment but that was like 5 years ago.
Reply:when i had my braces they costed 5,000 or aroung that

usually they have consultation session and they'll decide what you need, they also will proberly take a mould of you teeth and mouth and xrayss

hope it helps!
Reply:the cost depends on if you have insurance or not

on my first appointment, they gave me xrays and scheduled an appointment to take out some of my teeth *2 top and bottom* so i have room for the teeth to aline. I had 2 slightly crooked and a slight overbite.

you wear braces for aslong as you need them. and wearing them hurts.. not "ow" kind of hurt.. but a nagging hurt.. thats because they push your teeth literally into getting straight, and the tooth becomes ULTRA sensitive and just has a pulsing pain... its kinda like this..

*process of braces*

day 1 = feel pressure on your teeth.. still can eat

day 2 = ultra sensitive teeth.. pulse pain.. cant eat

day 3 = same as day 2.. not as bad

day 4 = teeth harden.. no pain.. can eat

atleast thats how my teeth worked. i didnt even have mine on for the entire duration i needed them. I was supposed to have them on for about 1 year, but instead i couldnt deal with the lil nagging pain bracess give, so they took them out and give me a retainer (portable braces) that i can take on and off.

since then ive got straight teeth.
