at first, your teeth will feel sensative to pressure, so biting down on the mouthpiece might be a little painful;, but you will definetly get used to playing withen a week. I play the sex by the way
Reply:Love the answer, but the buzz will make things challening for you orally. I played the flute and got quite a buzz from the reed when learning the saxaphone. Report It

Reply:LOL I'm quite sure that Chris C meant "sax" not "sex" ! Report It

Reply:yes, braces won't keep you from playing
Reply:Yes you will be able to play clarinet. I think if you put wax on your braces it shouldn't bother you too much. Just takes time getting used to.
Reply:Yes, I wore braces %26amp; played the flute. You will be fine.
Reply:of course! when i got braces, i played the saxophone. the only problem you may have is when you get them tightened, then you might have some problems playing the clarinet for a couple of hours! it also depends on how sensitive your teeth are: very: more painful and for longer / not at all sensitive: not painful at all/ in the middle: painful for a couple of hours and then it goes away until the next tightening
Reply:it doesn't hurt at all. just make sure you get wax and that might help if theres any discomfort. i play trombone and flute and i've had braces since my freshman year.
Reply:I played the clarinet when I had braces and did not experience any pain.
