How come I have more tooth sensitivity after my braces have been removed?
Painful Teeth After Braces Removed??
your teeth arent used to it
make sure you wear your retainer it helps and keeps your teeth in place
Reply:It is common. It will pass.
Reply:Braces move your teeth constantly while they're on, the brackets cover a good majority of the tooth. It's only natural for your teeth to be sensitive--give it a week or two-it'll take some time to get your teeth accustomed to being "free' again. Trust me-it's normal:)
Reply:That is normal because most of your tooth was covered by the bracket while you has braces. Your tooth was used to being protected. Also, when I had my braces taken off, it hurt a lot to brush my teeth because my gums where sensitive. Make sure to use a toothbrush with soft bristles and to go easy on your mouth while you brush.

I Have A Chain On The Front Bottom Teeth (braces), and it hurts! How Long Should it be sore?
And why is it sore? are my teeth moving??
I Have A Chain On The Front Bottom Teeth (braces), and it hurts! How Long Should it be sore?
well itll hrt for acouple of days ive had mine for about 2 yrs..trust me it hurts! its sore bc ur teeth arnt rele used 2 the pressure, n yea they are moving
Reply:always when you get your braces tighten your teeth move . it will be sore for a week or two .
Reply:The chain is used to pull all the teeth together, or close the gaps and spaces. It's usually done in the final stages of ortho....does that help any with the pain? The soreness should last a few days at most, the teeth are moving so that's what is causing the discomfort. Hope I've been of some help and good luck!

How much coke would you need to drink to get stains on your teeth with braces?
I've had braces for a year now and i usually drink 2-3 cans of coke zero a day but sometimes a few more and sometimes less. My ortho said he would be very surprised if i had any stains since my teeth are so clean and the people who get stains live of mars bars and coke.

Her orthodontist isnt dumb..he's right. You can get stains on your teeth.
Don't worry though...I had braces and drank A TON of soda. Just brush your teeth to keep your enamel strong and teeth stain-free.
Reply:You'll be fine as long as you brush your teeth three times a day.

as for the coke Zero thing
dont drink it. Regular coke is healthier than coke zero artificial sweetner is the worst thing for u

Probably alot. While not brushing your teeth.
Coke is gross though. It eats away the inner layers of your stomach. Not as much as alcohol, but it does.

Is there a way to close the gap in the front teeth WITHOUT braces?
i have got a gap between my front teeth and i really don't like it so i was wondering is there a way that i can close the gap without braces cos i don't want my mum to have to spend all her money on them i really don't mind if there is alot of pain
any suggestions anyone and have if you have used it before please tell me your experience thanks
Is there a way to close the gap in the front teeth WITHOUT braces?
It depends on how big the gap is. You could get bonding done but, it will need to be replaced over the course of your life. It also chips easily and so many dentists don't recommend it. There is also veneers but depending on how big the gap is you may not have this as an option because you wouldn't want to have two big front teeth that are not comparable to the size of the other teeth. (This will give you a chiclet look that no one finds asthetically pleasing.) Braces for this condition usually require a frenectomy( the removal of the small flap of skin under a lip). It's actually a muscle that has kept your teeth from being closed together in the front. Then of course the braces and retainer. I would really look into braces if there are other problems with your smile that are affecting you. Many dental offices have payment plans especially with orthodontia. Invisalign is for patients with minor subtlties they don't like about their teeth. It too is also costly. If it is really something that bothers you you could always babysit or work part time ( I assume you are underage) to help out your mother with the costs.
Reply:there are a few options out there. there is bonding, veneers, crowning and of course braces.

Reply:They do cost a lot, that's for sure. I had to have braces for 5 years, and a different sort of "key" in the back because of my jaw and the shape of my teeth (a lot of Native Americans have "shovel teeth," it's a distinct shape that results in them looking squarer and having a small indentation in the back.) That sort of teeth have to have more pressure on them to move as well because the enamel is so strong and thick, they need heavier wires and more force. That all translates to one massive OW!
In your case, you might be able to get these little clear things that are made as a set--I forget what they're called, but you could get a set made for the top. They're cheaper I believe.
Reply:braces is the best thing... but try to speak to a dentist, they will tell you :)
Reply:even with braces it is hard to keep the gap closed. after they come off a retainer is necessary to keep the teeth close which gets really annoying and is uncomfortable to wear every night because the teeth are moving all the time. the dentist may be able to do a procedure that cuts the little piece of skin that goes from the front lip to the gums right at the middle where the gap is. if yours is prominent that may be one way to get the teeth closer together. it all depends on your mouth. once all of your teeth come in (wisdom teeth don't come until your 20s usually) they may move closer together on their own. if not you may just have to get used to the gap. i have one and don't like it most of the time but am used to it at this point.
Reply:some veneers can do it....once the tooth is prept they just add the coverings and fill in the gap
Reply:Your mom should have had this taken care of a long time ago.
If its a matter of money then there is social services will help you resolve the problem.
Don't wait too long as the problem will not go away and only make the problem harder to correct when you get older.
In this country people are judged by their smile or lack off.
I had a boss who had bad teeth and he did not raise in our company (and he was a good worker) because he had bad teeth and BO..the BO was very offensive and the ugly teeth make him lose out in a very big promotion. So get some help sooner then later.
Reply:yes go to your dentist they will fill in the gap models do it all the time it doesn't hurt its fast effective and no one will be able to tell u had the gap filled in at all i have seen this done allot of times its a miracle cure
Reply:those invisalign things work -ask your dentist about them
Reply:That is so nice of you to not want your mom to pay. (Check though: your insurance may cover braces or you may qualify for free/discounted braces, ask a doctor!)
-This will cost some money, but not nearly as much as braces. There is a "staple" the orthodontist/dentist can put on your front teeth, that can pull them together. Ask your dentist or whoever at your next check-up or appointment
-After brushing your teeth (so your gums are soft) gently push your teeth together, only do it for a few seconds, twice a day.
-I've heard taking a tight rubberband and strapping it across both your teeth helps, but I've never tried it.
These may make your teeth sore though.
Good luck!!! I hope one of these is a solution that works for you.
Reply:my friend had a similar problem, and she just has an elastic band around her four front teeth. This pulls the teeth closer together over time, but may not work if there is a major gap.
Reply:I straightened a front tooth of mine when I was young by putting steady pressure on it while I would be reading/watching tv. I don't remember how long it took, too long ago. Maybe you could take some dental floss and put it around your two front teeth and tighten it. Just an idea.
Reply:There are invisible braces, that are similar to a retainer. If you look it up online, I believe they're cheaper.
Reply:Yes, there is an operation to remove the piece of skin that is in between the two front teeth. I had it done many years ago. You could also consider a retainer that you can wear but if you have to take it out you can.You should look into a dental clinic that would help to defray the cost of any dental work. You might be able to ask a school nurse, if you go to school or speak to a dentist who might know of some free clinics. Good luck.
Reply:um go to dentist

I have three or four small white spots on my teeth. my braces are coming off in two days, but i had this..?
...before i had the braces put on. my teeth are white, but the spots are even whiter. is there any way to get rid of them??
I have three or four small white spots on my teeth. my braces are coming off in two days, but i had this..?
You may have gotten those spots due to a high fever when they were forming or perhaps trauma or too much fluoride. You will probably need to cover over them with white fillings called composites or "bonding". Once your braces are off you should have a cleaning and let the hygienist or Dr. advise you. If they are not too much of a bother you might want to leave them alone because once you put a filling there you will need to replace them over the course of your life.
GOOD LUCK

Please help me by answering my question. What to do to my teeth about braces?
Can u give any idea about braces.B'coz my teeth r not straight. But my frend told to me that they look nice in such manner. What u think about that, should i need braces.
Please help me by answering my question. What to do to my teeth about braces?
It is hard to say but you should get an opinion from an Orthodontist. If your teeth are crowded or spaced, you need braces. However, if the shape of the teeth are not right with lot of chipping, wear but straight, you can get veneers. Hope that helps.
Reply:That depends. Does i bother you enough ?
Best to go to your dentist and see if they recommend braces for you.
Reply:better get them while you're still young because when you get past 20, your jaw stops growing and it will be hardeand longer r to re alighn your teeth.
Reply:It's true that it's better to get braces while you're younger. But if you're fine with the crooked teeth, then stick with it. But if the crooked teeth causes problems such as low self-esteem, difficulty in cleaning food stuck between your teeth and even breathing/articulation problems, then you'll probably wanna have braces.
As always, talk this over with a dentist. :)
Reply:u need to talk to ur dentist about that i was refered to someone in indianapolis and ended up going to someone in my hometown to get braces. i had very low self confidence so i really need to get braces and in a way i didnt want them but i have them to help me later in life so yea talk to ur dentist and get braces for the right reasons not just because everybody else wants them or has them

Reply:u need to talk to ur dentist about that i was refered to someone in indianapolis and ended up going to someone in my hometown to get braces. i had very low self confidence so i really need to get braces and in a way i didnt want them but i have them to help me later in life so yea talk to ur dentist and get braces for the right reasons not just because everybody else wants them or has them
Is there any way i can close the gap in my teeth without braces?
i have a gap in my front two teeth that is not that big or anything but it is still kind of bothering. i want braces and i have dental insurance but i dont want to waste money on braces if there is a way to close the gap without them.
Is there any way i can close the gap in my teeth without braces?
those night time mouth peices, i know someone who has one but it will take alot longer than braces will.
braces arnt so bad after the first week or 2
Reply:Always carry around a bag of those mini marshmallows. If you see someone you like coming toward you, stick one of the marshmallows in the gap.
Reply:See a cosmetic dentist. One who does a wide range of repairing teeth. Not a regular dentist... u want the latest greatest dentist or dental surgeon working on your teeth. There r veneers that cover your teeth and make a mouth appear perfect. Do some research, ck credentials, and get pricing. Then go to the one who is the best.
Reply:i don´t know how expensive these are, but here´s an option:
porcelain veneers:
"Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material, which are bonded to the front of teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia, and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth. Porcelain veneers are placed to mask discolorations, to brighten teeth, and to improve a smile. Highly resistant to permanent staining from coffee, tea, or even cigarette smoking, the wafer-thin porcelain veneers can achieve a tenacious bond to the tooth, resulting in an esthetically pleasing naturalness that is unsurpassed by other restorative options.
Patients with gaps between their front teeth or teeth that are chipped or worn may consider porcelain veneers. Generally, veneers will last for many years, and the technique has shown remarkable longevity when properly performed.
However, read this:
To prepare the teeth for the porcelain veneers, the teeth are lightly buffed to allow for the small added thickness of the veneer. Usually, about a half a millimeter of the tooth is removed, which may require a local anesthetic. At this appointment, a mold is taken of the teeth, which is sent to the laboratory for the fabrication of the veneers. This can take about one to two weeks. If the teeth are too unsightly a temporary veneer can be placed, at an additional cost.
Hope this helps!
Reply:An option other than veneers (which are a permanent commitment) is bonding. You can "try on" bonding and see if you really want to get rid of the gap. I had my front teeth bonded before getting veneers and loved it. To bond your teeth temporarily, the dentist roughened up my tooth with a sandpaper disc and then put composite in the space. Composite is the white colored filling they put in cavities. He told me if I was lucky it would last about a week. At the time it cost me about $150.00 (I had a pretty large gap)‚ and it lasted me about 3 weeks because I was very careful. It turned out my front teeth looked too big with just 2 of them bonded so I got 4 veneers. Try it you could like it.
Reply:The best thing would be porcelain veneers, you pay more at first but it is better. You can have bonding which is composite to build up teeth, composite is the tooth colored material, but they stain and need to be touched up and redone every couple of years, they are a fraction of the price, but long term you are better off with porcelain veneers
Reply:insert a toothpick between the two teeth and snap it off. Then take some liquid paper to touch up the color of the tooth pick. Voila!

I have teeth braces. Can I have laser treatment for upper lip hair removal?
I am 13 years old and I want to remove my upper lip hair but I am wearing braces. Will the laser clinic provide laser treatment?
I have teeth braces. Can I have laser treatment for upper lip hair removal?
No problem. Laser hair technology in no way interferes with the braces on your teeth.

I have strep throat, dead taste buds, and irritated wisdom teeth plus braces!?
Well i have had strep throat for about 4 days went to the doctor got the prescripted amoxicillin(penicillin). My Throat soreness is going away thankfully.. and now the swelling of my tongue and lips have caused my braces i guess to rub against my tongue and lip causing canker sores on my lower lip and a dead taste bud on my tongue... on top of that my lower wisdom teeth are super irritated . Causing me to stop eating and drinking as much.... Is there anything i can do to relieve my tongue and wisdom teeth soon ?
I have strep throat, dead taste buds, and irritated wisdom teeth plus braces!?
I have had the same problem. Strep and braces. It hurts. I feel your pain. Some cold water or ice will relieve your tongue, and ambesol should take care of your wisdom teeth for a little at a time. Use some of that cushion goupe on your braces to keep them from rubbing on your cheeks. You can get it from your orthidontist. I always keep some just in case my braces give me a cut. Eventually you will want your wisdom teeth removed if you did'nt know that already. Feel better!
Reply:sorry, mate. sounds painful
try asprin and red bull- caffiene makes painkillers stronger

Reply:The pharmacy section of your store should have some gum soothing medications that are used for infants. They can really help with any mouth pain. It will get you through the rough times, until you can get to the dentist.
Reply:Gargle with salt %26amp; water (warmer than luke warm) then take excederin

I Know Everyone Is Different But If You've Had Braces, How Long Did It Take You Teeth To Get Used To Them?
I Just Got Braces Yesterday %26amp; My Teeth Are Still Sensative To Them. If You Can Remember How Long It Took You To Get Used To Brushing Your Teeth With Braces, It Might Help Too.
I Know Everyone Is Different But If You've Had Braces, How Long Did It Take You Teeth To Get Used To Them?
I've had mine for 7 months now, and i really HATED them at first. But after about 2 weeks it was totaly fine! I don't even notice them half the time now. It was sore to brush for about the first week, but after that its cool=) If you can't brush it properly just yet just do the best you can, and use an alchohol free mouthwash, thats what i did. Good Luck!=)
Reply:About a week or so. It feels really iratating or wierd when you first have them; trust. but after a couple of days to a week you wont notice them anymore. use a softer toothbrush to help and a sesitive toothpaste.
Hope it gets better

Reply:Ha! The tricky thing about your braces is that it seems as soon as they stop aching, you are going in for an adjustment. Okay, it's not that bad, but you will probably feel the pain for about a week. I suggest Tylenol. You will go through this everytime you go in for an adjustment.

Can someone explain to me in detail how to brush your teeth with braces?
hey i just got braces but my orthodontist didnt really explain that much well i dont remeber and i think im brushing my teeth wrong.
Can someone explain to me in detail how to brush your teeth with braces?
I had braces for 2 years. Just brush your teeth regular but be sure to floss daily. The plague will build up around the bracket. You dont want to get stains so make sure you floss good, brush daily, and mouthwash will help as well. Ask your dentist for floss threaders...they are these hook shapped pieces of plastic that you tie the floss onto and it helps you get the floss in between each bracket. Good Luck!!!
Reply:hi !!! its very very risky brushing your teeth with anything other than a toothbrush.why use braces????????????????? they may damage you????????/ stick to a toothbrush for teeth, and braces for trousers.
Reply:Brush normal but brush for longer and get your tounge really well and also you need to get next to you gum line. that really helps because getting a cavity while you have braces is a B(*%26amp;$ sorry for the launguge but it really hurts. also use mouth wash.
Reply:Well... I have braces right now and you have to be sure to brush your gums and the insides of your teeth. Flossing is important too... you need to floss in between each bracket. Mouthwash will also reach areas you cannot reach with your toothbrush. My orthodontist gave me a "christmas tree brush." It was small and shaped like a christmas tree. You could easily slide it in between each bracket and it really helps! Hope this helps!
Reply:Just brush normle, but make sure you don't brush hard. That will give you stains because the anmel will only be left where the brackets were.
Reply:i have braces and what i do is when i am brushing my top teeth i take the toothbrush and point the bristles down to get in between the wire and your tooth... while brushing th ebottem i point the bristles up from the bottom of my mouth.... hope it helps!!

Will i get the white marks on my teeth from braces???? :S?
As long as you brush really good, between the gum and the braces you will be perfectly fine. Just try to brush atleast 1 time a day but 2 or 3 is reccomened. Don't stress over it, just keep on doing your thing and brush for 2 minutes and you'll be ffffine!
Reply:as long as you are brushing and rinsing regularly you should be fine!! I had them and never got any spots.. If you do happen to you can get your teeth bleached after...
Reply:well the white marks are scars from not taking care of your teeth if youu brush your teeth regular and do everything that the ortho tells you than i think you'll be fine. oh don't use whitening tooth past or anything that whitens your teeth. but if your talking about the white marks or squares left from your braces same thing take care of your teeth! (:
Reply:You will NOT develop "white spots" if you brush your teeth 2X a day.
These white spots are know as decalcified/demineralized areas. They form when you have not removed the bacterial plaque from you teeth, and you eat something. The bacteria use the carbs and starches from the food that you ate as a food source and they produce an acid waste product. The acids eats away at your enamel and causes these white areas. If you were to still not brush after they have formed, they would turn into cavities/tooth decay. So, like I said before, if you maintain perfect oral hygiene, there will not be enough bacteria on your teeth to produce acid and destroy the enamel on your teeth.
Reply:Does it really matter? your teeth will be nice and straight. and any marks will be taken care by your dentist. Good luck and enjoy life.

I just had my braces so when can i start to brush my teeth?
Brush your teeth with a soft small head tooth brush or electric. It may be helpful to use a pre-rinse to loosen particles. No need to wait to start brushing -- if they hurt just brush gently. Be prepared with gum wax that you stick on your braces because they can rub against the inside of your mouth and cause soreness.
Reply:right away i guess

don't you worry. you can jolly well not brush your teeth for some days :)))))))))))))))))))

Would the Crest Premium Whitestrips remove white stains on your teeth after braces?
I recently got my braces off, but now i have white stains on my teeth. Do you know if the Crest Whitestrips can remove them?
Would the Crest Premium Whitestrips remove white stains on your teeth after braces?
The "white" marks are caused by something different then regular staining from Colas and Coffee. I don't think they will work, and may actually be bad for you causing tooth sensitivity in your case. The white marks are caused by enamel decalcification.
I recommend that you see a cosmetic dentist who can advise you on that situation.
Reply:your best bet is to see the dentist. have your teeth cleaned and checked proffesionally.
Reply:my daughter's orthodontist recommended a regular dental cleaning, waiting a month, then using crest premium whitestrips exactly as directed. i couldn't notice any difference at all when she was done.

I keep getting food stuck in between my teeth with braces and its hard to get out...?
I have braces(i got them exactly a month ago)and the gap between my two front teeth is closing, but something I'm not satisifed with, is whenever I eat something at school or anywhere, food is so hard to get out. And I leave that cleaner pick thing at home, and I have to go through 2 1/2 of having food stuck in between my teeth. How can I prevent this from happening? Its bothering me a lot.

You can even use tooth paste with them. Go get some.
Reply:Yeah, this is the worst!! Unfortunately, there's not alot you can do about it...it's part of having braces. But Sephora makes a great travel toothbrush kit with the cleaner pics in it. Even when I was done with those pics...I just stuck in refills from home. You end up having to brush more with braces to remove 'stuck' food (yuck).

Try to keep a pick or something at hand and eat foods that aren't "stringy". Such as a sandwhich, prezels, and an apple or banana. as your gap closes it will get better. I also had brases for 2.5 years. and after the first half year I didn't have so much of a problem. So just keep doing your best and they will come off sooner. you'll be so happy with your perfect teeth!

How long does it take to see a difference in my teeth from braces?
im getting braces this month in 23 days on july 24th. on the top and bottom. and i want to know how long it takes to see a difference in your teeth after they are applied. on the top i have a large space in my two front teeth other wise they are pretty straight. on the bottom i have straight teeth except for like 3 of them that are slightley turned sideways but there not that bad. i didnt have any teeth extracted and i have all my grown up teeth in so how long before i start to see a difference in the gap????
How long does it take to see a difference in my teeth from braces?
It is amazing how fast some teeth move. I've seen it first hand over the years. The problem is not how fast they move, but how long they let the braces stay on your teeth. You need to let the bone rebuild around the teeth after the movement takes place. This is critical for avoiding bone loss problems later on and relapse. Adult orthodontics requires longer than adolescence because the bone is more dense. The gap in your front teeth can repair itself, but be warned if they don't remove the sometimes large papilla between the two front teeth, it can push it right back out. Ask them if you will need that tissue removed. Its either that or a small wire can be placed behind your 2 front teeth just like what they put on the lower ones. Good luck. Don't forget to take some Ibuprofen prior to and after your first appointment...You will have soreness.

I think it depends on your problems and the extremities of them.

If i brush my teeth to much..can i get white spots on my teeth from braces??
i brush my teeth about 4 times a day..and i got my braces on about 3 months ago and i noticed white spots on my two front teeth..why is that?
If i brush my teeth to much..can i get white spots on my teeth from braces??
White spots may develop from the acid etch that is used to roughen the tooth surface so the bonding material will adhere to the tooth when they cement your braces on.
Or white spots are demineralization of the tooth enamel.
Ask your Dentist or Dental Hygienist for a prescription strength Fluoride you can brush on your teeth everyday to prevent this from occurring
In the meantime pick up some ACT fluoride rinse you can find in the toothpaste isle.
Fluoride incorporates itself into the enamel to make it stronger and remineralizes the weak spots thus preventing the white spots.
Reply:Im not to sure..Should ask your dentist when you next go!
If you dont brush your teeth properly %26amp; enough times through the day food can get stuck round your brace %26amp; when they remove it you can end up with brown marks etc..I had a brace on when i was 13 for 8months and burshed mine everytime i had food and when i woke up %26amp; went bed %26amp; mine where fine
Reply:It is probably plaque. But i did hear that if you brush your teeth too much it can fade your teeth, Check with your dentist.
Reply:I also have white spots on my two front teeth. They developed while I had braces. I asked the dentist and I was told that it had something to do with the metal brackets and the way the calcium deposited around them in my teeth. That didn't make any sense to me. However, that is what I was told by the dentist. I hate those spots. I am sure no one notices them but it still makes me self conscious about my smile. Hope this helps! :)
Reply:Toothpaste is very abrasive. If you are brushing your teeth a lot, try only using toothpaste only once a day. The rest of the time, just brush them with plain water.
Overbrushing can actually wear the enamel off your teeth when you use toothpaste. Once it's gone, it's gone. Then you will start having all kinds of problems like tooth sensitivity to hot and cold and you will get cavities more easily.
As for the white spots, I would ask your orthodontist. Tell them that they bother you.

Can they fix a gap in my front teeth without braces?
i had braces for almost four years. they have been off for almost five years now. however, i have started to get a gap in my front teeth. my retainer broke a couple years ago. it isnt big, but still bothers me. i do not want braces back on!
Can they fix a gap in my front teeth without braces?
Easiest way is for them to make you a new retainer to help close that gap slightly/prevent it from getting better. They can place veneers over the front two teeth, they place these by grinding the enamel down slightly and then cementing these porcelain facings on the front they just make them a little wider to fill the gap. The bad thing is this would be permanent and you would never be able to go without veneers or crowns on these teeth. They could also bond some filling material into the gap which would still involve possibly some permanent grinding, ust less. Your best bet is a new retainer to wear at night to close the gap.
Reply:Yeah, you can stick some chicklets gum in bewteen them..
Reply:how about porcelain veneers? i have them to cover up a fillings on my front teeth. they aren't cheap but they look nice and they are a quick way to fix problems.
Reply:they could put veneers on, which is kind of like a crown. The downside is that you lose some of your natural tooth, which is not good, and your teeth will probably continue to shift over time. I believe, if the movement is minimal, they could fit you with a new retainer that may correct the movement, but I cannot say for sure without actually seeing your teeth. call your dentist and ask......good luck.
Reply:If you don't want to go the braces route again or if you don't want to do veneers or crowns to close the gap I have seen orthodontists put a small bar/wire behind the 2 front teeth. I don't know if they can close it for you by using a retainer first or if it would require braces to close. You would need a consultant to answer that. Something you may not realize you are doing is clenching or grinding your teeth. Most do it during sleeptime, but some do this even while awake. You can use a sleep appliance that will keep you from Bruxing (clench/grind). There are some that would fit your whole arch (that would act like a retainer too) or there is a new one called the NTI that fits just onto the 2 top teeth either top or bottom. It is small and easy to wear and it keeps your back teeth apart so you can't clench. Not sure if this helped you decide, but just wanted to let you know.....grinding/clenching will move your teeth around over the years. Good luck.

Getting Rid of gap between front teeth WITHOUT braces?
I have a small (but very noticeable) gap between my 2 front teeth, and i want to get rid of it badly, is there a way to do so withough braces though? because i am already in grade 11 and everyone is getting theirs off if anything.
Getting Rid of gap between front teeth WITHOUT braces?
Sure you can. There's a procedure called diastema closure (space closure). Your dentist will just recontour your your two front teeth using composite materials which matches the shade of your teeth and create a slightly wider teeth to close the space. You can see the result as soon as you leave the dental clinic. If that's the only problem, then you can go for this procedure instead of wearing braces.
Reply:Porcelain Veneers, i had the same problem, but with my 4 front teeth, now they look fantastic!! Just shop around for a quote, mine were AU$500 per tooth.
Goodluck.

Is there a way to get straighter teeth without braces?
because i have like 2 teeth that r crooked and braces cost too much to just fix 2 teeth....
Is there a way to get straighter teeth without braces?
The obvious answer is Invisalign, but they typically costs the same as the traditional metal braces, so that does not help with your question.
You should check with a cosmetic dentist, if it is merely "2 teeth that r crooked", then maybe check into enamel re-contouring, where the dentist shapes the teeth so they appear different, if they are more out of position, you can check into "bonding", where the dentist puts some white filling material (Composite) to make it look like it is in a different position. It is hard to tell without looking at your teeth but your dentist should give you some different options.
Reply:u can either get a retainer or the invisiline thing

Is there a way to whiten teeth w/ braces??
i have braces, but i still wanna whiten my teeth, is this possible, at all
Is there a way to whiten teeth w/ braces??
strips wouldn't work. i'd say not too because when you take the braces off you'll have dull spots and marks. just wait till you get them taken off to whiten them. worked for me [=
Reply:I never heard of any but I suggest that you should you wait until you get your braces off to get an even color?
Reply:I wouldnt because it will jack em up.......i had braces and no.....dont do it...WAIT UNTIL YOU GET THEM OFF!
Reply:I don't think you would too, because when you get your braces off, most of your teeth would be white, but you would have little yellow spots in the middle from where your braces used to be. So I wouldn't recommend whitening with braces!

Braces..teeth moving.?
OK ill give you the low down. I had just got my braces on 2 weeks ago, had the wire switched got new color rubber band things on and just got the rear things that hold the head gear in. and I just noticed after I got the new wire on that one tooth is becoming loose, it just started gaping inbetween.
any ideas?
Braces..teeth moving.?
my teeth felt loose when i had braces. it's just your teeth shifting in your gums. cuz if they weren't a little loose, then they couldn't shift. but if you feel that it's not normal, then see your dentist.
Reply:Go to your dentist and ask him what's up.
Reply:my friend has the headgear and braces and the headgear manuel said that, that will happen the molars will begin getting loose but the tooth will probably heal since you have braces.

How do you clean your teeth with fixed braces on???
Flossing %26amp; Brushing Tips
To floss your teeth, feed the short end of the floss through the space between the main arch wire and the upper portion of the tooth closest to the gum. Use a gentle sawing motion to work the floss on each side of the two teeth the floss is between. Be careful not to pull with too much force around the arch wire. Begin brushing your teeth by using a regular soft toothbrush. Brush down from the top and then up from the bottom on each tooth with braces. Next, brush your teeth with a proxabrush or "Christmas tree" brush. This brush is specially designed for cleaning between two braces. Insert the brush down from the top and then up from the bottom between two braces. Use several strokes in each direction before moving on to the next space between two braces. Repeat the procedure until all teeth have been cleaned.
I hope it helps you (:

How do u floss your teeth with braces on?
i mean, the wires are all on and the floss cant pass through those wires like how one can withput braces on. then how do you clean the spaces between each teeth?
How do u floss your teeth with braces on?
Use a floss threader. It's a flexible plastic loop. Looks like a tiny noose, lol. You put your floss in the loop, stick the straight side through your wire and pull through. It'll pull the floss through for easier flossing. They sell it at any drugstore or your Ortho may have them. In the beginning, it might take a little longer but after a while, it gets easy. A Waterpik is another option. But my Ortho said it shouldnt' replace manual flossing. I use to use it after meals but floss once per day. Good luck!
Reply:use disposable teeth flossers
Reply:You stick the floss under the bracket, and pull is through the space between your teeth to floss.
Reply:It takes a little bit of time, but flossing is an absolute must - especially when you have braces. This is because you have a higher risk for your gums becoming inflammed (food trap, teeth shifting, etc.) and also a higher risk for cavities (difficulty cleaning around braces).
Go to your nearest CVS or Walgreens and purchase for "floss threaders." Or you can order the "FlossFish Flossing Tool" on their website:
http://www.dentakit.com/flfltoforbr.html
There is an instructional video as well!
Reply:Ask for those special brushes with spikes on the end
they work
Reply:Try using a Waterpik Flosser the little plastic tip goes between the teeth under the brackets and wires - cost about $10. The Oral B Hummingbird with the Stimudent type tip would also work but is somewhat thicker than the Flosser tips.
Reply:there are these little things you can buy them in the dental aisle in your local grocery store or whatever and there is a whole you stick the floss through there then in between the wires pull till you get the floss push down and repeat.
Reply:You can do it. But you have to go out and buy special floss that has a stiff end. Precut strips of floss that have 1 end a little stiff and you are then able to pull it through around the braces. I suggest Glide brand threaded floss.

HELP with stains on my teeth after braces?
okay, so i just had my braces taken off today, and on three of my front teeth i had little white stops, and i dont know how to get rid of them. but i would really love to not have them there because im still in high school and it is kinda embarressing. so if you have any ideas..please im desperate. :)

How can you whiten your teeth WITH BRACES ON???
i really need suggestions my teeth are dingy and i have braces but i really want them white what can i do?
How can you whiten your teeth WITH BRACES ON???
brush you teeth in a circular motion.
they probably look less white because of the braces. but i had them, and when they came off, my teeth were waaaaaaaaay white.
so the same may happen to you
don't worry about it
Reply:you really do not want to whiten your teeth with braces, or you will have little squares on your teeth afterwards! brush often, and floss!
Reply:speak w/your dentist and orthodontist. good hygiene is very important, but more so with braces.
Reply:My teeth actually got whiter while wearing braces. The brackets protected my enamel. I'd just brush the braces as best as possible for 2 minutes until then.

Is there anything to straighten teeth besides braces?
I have an overbight and can`t stand it! But, I don`t want braces and don`t need them because my teeth are straight I just don`t like the overbight. Is there anything, like something I can wear at night, to fix this?
Is there anything to straighten teeth besides braces?
is that the same as an open bite i ahve one too and i was wondering about the same thing..no i dont think so
Reply:Invisaline a new product most dentist would know about. I think that the name.
Reply:Besides for surgery, I'd say braces is the only way to fix it. They aren't just for straightening teeth, you know. Fixing an overbite or an underbite can only be done with orthodontic appliances or surgery as far as I know.
Reply:This really depends on a lot of factors. Your teeth may be straight, but it sounds like your bite has problems. There are retainer-like appliances that you can wear instead of braces, but they work only under certain conditions. If your overbite is really severe, braces may be your only alternative. I'm not sure if Invisalign could really help with that -- it's not a strong point for that system.
The best thing you could do is have a free consultation with an orthodontist or two to discuss your alternatives.

I just had my braces, any tips to give me for taking care of my teeth and my braces?
How do i take of care of my teeth and braces? My dentist gave me a kit with a special toothbrush, some wax, floss, tablets(to chew so that it would stain all the plaque on my teeth color red) and "rincinol"... should I always use those things every after I eat? any tips that could help? detailed tips would be greatly appreciated..

just be sure to rinse really well when you do brush your teeth %26amp; such, and use a water pick. it gets messy but it worked for me! the wax didnt help so much, it just bunched up on its own and i ended up swallowing some (i don't reccomend it). but it is most important to rinse %26amp; make sure you brush behind the wires %26amp; brackets because if food stays back there, there will be a gross stain on your teeth when the braces come off.
Reply:I am 31 now but when I was 15 my mother so graciously gave me braces. All I did was brush after EVERY meal and that keep them clean. (hint: eat something hard, cereal, the first couple of days after tightning. It will hurt but will get you teeth use to eat hard foods faster.)
Reply:Dont bite anything hard because it will really hurt and your braces might fall out, when you bite something hard. Follow everything your dentist tells you to do, it will really help a lot. You should always use the things the dentist gave to you because it will ease the pain and make your teeth healthy and beautiful in the end.

Is it possiable to straighten your teeth WITHOUT braces?
My dentist says I don't need braces.
but I personally think I need them.
The only problem is the gap in between my two front teeth.
So is it possiable to straighten them without braces?
Is it possiable to straighten your teeth WITHOUT braces?
Yes, research Invisalign in your area. You get a different tray for your teeth every two weeks. That's what I did and it worked well.
Reply:You could do veneers to close the space.

How do you whiten teeth with braces on?
My teeth are a little yellow, and I have braces. After I get them off, my mom is going to get them laser whitened, but I can't wait that long! how do I whiten them before, without making the color uneven?
How do you whiten teeth with braces on?
DON'T DO IT! Wait until you have a retainer. There are retainers that are designed so that they can double as whitening gel trays. I have stained teeth because I used whitening toothpaste and it's really embarrassing.
Reply:try using whitening toothpaste lyke arm an hammer, colgate or crest

Reply:REMOVE YOUR BRACES!! DUH!!!
Reply:Try using a whitening toothpaste, that should work. And do not try that answer about the rubbing alcohol- it's usually made poisonous so people can't buy it and get drunk. No offense to them, but yeah... bad idea. If you just use some good toothpaste and brush regularly, that should definitely cut down on the yellow and you should have fairly white teeth until you get them off. I suggest Arm %26amp; Hammer or Crest Whitening Toothpaste.
Reply:Don't use any whitening product except toothpaste until you get your braces off, otherwise you'll be able to tell exactly where the braces were and need some serious whitening! Just brush after every meal like your orthodontist said and use one of those soft bristle dental brushes to clean between the wires/teeth.
Be patient, many of us before you have gone through the "tinsel teeth years" and lived to smile about it. I think it's great that your mom has given you a great incentive to get through this time.
Reply:try the whitning that comes with a brush that you can jus brush on.... i am not sure if it works or not but it is jus a suggestion

I had the same problem.
No one notices yellow teeth if you have braces.
When they're removed, it'll be a LOT easier.

Earlier when there was no proper treatment introduced in dentistry only dentures was the answer for tooth decay. But now dentistry has advanced so rapidly that almost every tooth problem has a solution.
Prosthodontics deals with the replacement of teeth by fixing crows, bridges and dentures. A new technique has been introduced named as cosmetic dentistry that aims to add a glow to the teeth by making it shinier and whiter. It is obvious that when your teeth look beautiful it directly reflects in your smile and enhances your personality.
There are different procedures to beautify your teeth.
Bleaching is one of the procedures to whiten the layers of your
teeth by using bleaching agents. There are trays that are loaded with these agents and they are fixed to the teeth. They are removed after an hour or two. The process is repeated depending upon the patient’s tooth discoloration. There is a new procedure wherein the agent is directly applied to the teeth without using any trays. It can be completed in just a sitting within 30-45 minutes.
There is another technique, which can be carried out at home. Individual trays are made and are loaded with the necessary chemicals. They are inserted into the mouth and are retained for about 6-8 hours and are removed later. It requires almost 15-20 days to show results. But after this procedure you may experience slight gum irritation and teeth sensitivity. But the results of this procedure are really promising. It is better if the same procedure is carried out in the dentist’s office as the dentist has the required knowledge.

When they sand the glue off your teeth after braces?
After you get your braces off, I'm reading that a lot of people on here who've had braces said the dentist scrapes and sands off the cement glue. I'm sorry, but doesn't that also scrape off any remaining enamel you might still have left on your teeth? I don't think my teeth can handle that. They're weak enough as it is.
When they sand the glue off your teeth after braces?
This is actually a very good question. When the remaining bonding needs to be removed from the teeth, it is important that in grinding off the material, that enamel is not removed. There is a different texture and color to the bonding compared to enamel. I keep the area dry and the bonding will have a frosted appearance and is porous. Just like when your teeth are scaled and tartar removed, we can feel the difference in a material that is not tooth substance.
The teeth should not be "soft" and the enamel should be fine and undamaged underneath the bonding. The only time there is an issue is if oral hygiene has been poor and the teeth are decalcified. Then there are actually soft spots on the enamel, because the teeth have begun to decay. Sometimes, then, a bit of enamel is removed with the bonding or else some bonding is left behind until the teeth have remineralized a bit.
Your teeth should not be weak. They will feel loose though when the bonding is being removed. It is a weird feeling. I try to hold onto the tooth to stabilize it while removing bonding so that it doesn't feel so loose.
That is why you need retainers afterwards, because they actually are still loose.
Reply:Well, he does get the glue off... but only that. It is perfectly fine, and may actually make your teeth smoother! Getting your braces off doesn't really hurt, but it does make your mouth sort of cold. If you're worried about your teeth, you can talk to your orthodontist, and ask him to be careful! Good luck!
Reply:Nope just the glue. It's annoying when they do it but they are just taking of the cement.

How do you whiten teeth with braces?
Is there any way to help whiten teeth when you have braces? Maybe some really really good toothpastes or any other unique things? help! :)
How do you whiten teeth with braces?
Yes, just rely somehow on over the counter products. Hopefully your dentist won't let you have any products. Do you know how silly your teeth will look after you have braces? Sure, you'd have beautiful straight teeth, but you'd have dull colored squares in the middle of each tooth. You'd regret it if you did something extreme. Best of luck!
Reply:Stop drinking soda and coffee. Your teeth will gradually turn back to their natural color.
Reply:Just brush well and floss. I wouldn't start any kind of whitening treatment until after your braces come off, because it can damage the glue that hold your braces on your teeth, and also will whiten around the braces, but then when you get them taken off you will have little spots on your teeth that aren't as white where the braces were attached.
Reply:I had this problem with braces years ago. You know what is going to happen.
The current color when you had your braces is going to show up when you get your braces off. SO you will see dark squares on your teeth if your teeth are whiter than what you have underneath.
Just use a water pick. That pushes that gunk out.
Reply:I just talked to my dentist about that recently. With conventional braces you cannot whiten because the whitening solution would not get under the braces and you would have two-tone teeth when the braces come off. If you do not already have braces you can have them put on the back of your teeth now instead of the front. That way you could do your whitening with them on.
Reply:I would wait til your braces are off before doing any major whitening treatments. As for now, you should switch to Crest Whitening Expressions toothpaste. They will whiten your teeth naturally. Also, eat more strawberries! They will gradually and subtly whiten your teeth, too. Combined with a good brushing and flossing regimen your teeth should look great! Best of luck!
Reply:You shouldn't whiten your teeth with braces. If anything, just use a good toothpaste and mouth wash to keep your teeth from turning and mostly to prevent cavities. Brush every day (you should brush 3 times; I never did and my teeth are white even after I got my braces off yesterday, but others are not so lucky). If you want, you can whiten your teeth after you get your braces off.

How to brush ur teeth with braces?
I actually just got my braces yesterday, and let me tell you, i had that speech for a while. My orthodontist told me to make sure i brush right next to your gums, near your 12 year molars, and in the inside of your teeth. It's also really important to floss your teeth, (your ortho will show u how) hope this helps!
Reply:Brush often and rinse alot
Reply:brush with water then brush with toothpaste for some time :) normal brushing lol
Reply:Coming from someone who's had braces, they will tell you at the orthodontist how to maintain your teeth while you have them. So, don't worry about it too much right now. But, pretty much you brush like normal but you have to buy this special little gadget that looks like a little hook with a brush at the end of it that you stick behind the braces and brush each individual tooth with also. That's to make sure you got all the gunk out. Because when you have braces, everything you eat gets stuck in them. Also, you buy this gadget that looks like a plastic loop to thread the dental floss with to be able to get it behind the braces and in between your teeth. They also recommend that you rinse with fluoride rinse every day. It sounds worse than it is. I had braces for 2 years and got used to it after a while. My teeth had no cavities and were much whiter after I got my braces removed than before I got them. So good oral hygiene makes all the difference! Good luck.

How do u whiten teeth w/ braces on???
Unfortunately you cannot whiten with braces on. The whitening agent will not be able to get under where the brackets have been cemented onto the teeth. If you do use a product you run the risk of have different colored rectangles on the center of your teeth when the brackets are removed. Once you braces are removed have your teeth cleaned and then whiten them. Sorry I don't have any other options for you!

Reply:I wouldn't do that. You're likely to have etching where the braces are that you may not be able to match up later. Basically, you'd have whiter teeth around your braces, and when they take the braces off, you'll be able to "see" where the braces were, because it will literally be a different color. Wait until after the braces come off, then you can do them evenly and all at once.
Reply:You can't because after you take off your braces you will have different shades on your teeth.

How can I straighten my teeth without braces?
All right, I know this is a really crazy question. It's just, I REALLY don't want to get braces and I'd like to staighten my teeth. And please don't just tell me that braces aren't so bad.

If money is not an issue what about veneers. They are painless but expensive.

Reply:you cant straighten them any other way. if the crowding and bite are not too severe, veneers may be the way to go. see your dentist, they can take impressions of your teeth and do a "wax up" on the models to show you what can be done, this could cost about 200 dollars. some dentists in larger cities are doing a "snap on smile" I would not recommend this, they lead to severe decay and other problems. braces arent that bad. I had them in high school and did not wear my retainers, got my wisdom teeth and wore braces again in dental school.
Reply:braces are needed man sorry unless u get a special type of retainers that u can take in and out but normallly u need braces first it sucks soooner u get them in the better

Who is telling you that the only reason that you can't model is because of your teeth? Make sure it's not some fly by night talent scout.
My point is don't fix your smile to model, fix it for yourself!
If you get the cuspid removed, it's not going to be like a wisdom tooth. Not that difficult. Talk to a good oral surgeon. Seems like it would be easier to yank it out and put an implant in.
Good luck!!!
Reply:if you want it FAST!
spend thousands on private dental treatment.
Reply:You should ask a dentist... It looks like you do need braces but I know they are expensive.
Reply:I know you're not going to like my answer. I know it's a hard descision and I know that it'll be rough, but I think it would be benificial to you in MANY different ways if you got braces. I was in braces for 2 years and 3 months (longer than most typical orthodontic treatments), and I, like you, didn't think my case was "that bad". I had a small gap inbetween my two front teeth which I believed could simply be fixed with some bonding. What I learned from sitting in that orthodontist's chair for so long is that there are a lot of different attributes to orthodontic treatment. Besides the cuspid, your have a deep bite, and your midline is off. Your teeth aren't properly aligned either although they are spaced correctly. If I were you, I'd get the braces, maybe Invisalign (most insurance plans cover Invisalign!). I know it's hard to look past the next year or two you'd be in braces, but in the long run, it's worth it, and it's not the half-assed alternative of getting an implant. I think you should be proud of your smile. At the end of the day, it's up to you, but I really feel that you'd benefit from braces. Your dreams to model will get you through the next few years that you'd be in braces, and you'll be as beautiful as ever when they come off (if you get them). Good luck with whatever you choose!
Reply:I worked as dental asst. 25 yrs aslo we did braces.cusids take the longest to move cause they have the longest roots. In my opinion your are not in too bad of shape but cant see the whole pic. the cuspid need to come down obvistly and without the room it's going to take a long time from where it sits. No dentist will remove that tooth and put implant for it is the most important tooth in the mouth .It is your guidence tooth. They would however remove the one behind it for space but would be too much.without removing the otherside would not look right and poss would need to remove the bottom ones or the possibly will not mesh together properly. It's kinda complicated and will take tomany pages to explain so you would understand the bites function.Unfortunitly braces are a must.Possibly cuspid to cuspid with placing crowns and veneers would be your only other option without braces.VERY expensive compaired to braces and not a good choice for you. Your teeth are very pretty and you would be unnessarly removing good tooth structure that you will regret later as an adult they would need to be replaced due to color and receding gums and eating habits will be a must to change for the things you bite into. Crowns and veneers are strong but not like healthy teeth. They have tooth colored colored braces and wires that make them near invisible just for the paticular reason you do not want.Because just from what i can see which I can't see really. But your bite does not look bad just the cuspid needs to come down and back..Proubly where them 12-18 mos.whick goes fast really. To not extract they would make space inbetweenyour upper teethbicuspid to bicuspid a little each time for not to mack too much space.Do not freakout and do unrational procedures to your teeth .You need to keep what nature gave you!! If your pinky fingure had a little bend and did not look perfect, would you go to the doctor have him cut your arm off and give you fake one just so your fingers would match??? Because once you remove it it doesnt grow back so you dont get a new one you will be screwed when down the road you wished you you would of had the simple surgeryto straighten out your fingure and where the cast for 6 mos to a year. You need your teeth they are more important then any body part.Body parts do not keep you healthy. Your teeth are an important part of you health you need them to chew your food properly for your body to digest.and they make you feel good about yourself big part of your health. You have the rest of your life to beautify yourself and they have been there this long use the next year and a half straighten as you go !! Hope I helped !! Good luck !
Reply:Suck it up and get the braces.
If you just have to pull down the canine into position and line up the other teeth to make them perfect you may be a lot quicker than you think doing braces.
By extracting the canine, you are going to lose bone around that tooth and that 's not healthy for your upper jaw and appearance. Besides an implant will take about 6 months to heal before you can get it restored and then the appearance may not be what you anticipated.
Do it right and then go on to have a great modeling career!

How can i fix my teeth without braces?Pic included?
How do you whiten your teeth with braces?
I have braces, and theres nothing wrong withmy teeth, but I want them to be really really white. How do I do that if I have braces on?
How do you whiten your teeth with braces?
I'd be careful because if you whiten your teeth with braces on then when the braces get taken off your layer which was not covered by a bracket will be darker then the part which was lightened.
Toothpaste would do fine though. Just to answer your question.
Reply:Braces make your teeth more vulnerable-I wouldn't do anything without talking to your dentist.
Reply:wai tuntil u get them off or else each tooth will be two different shades
Reply:You don't. Depending on the type of braces you might end up with patchy spots.
Reply:The best options right now are a white rinse, from Colgate or another brand...also try wetting your toothbrush with proxide and put some toohpaste and baking soda on it and brush....the toothpaste helps cut the taste.
I'm a smoker, coffee, red wine drinker and have used only proxide and baking soda for years....my dentist didn't even know that I did the three above.....
Reply:Never try to whiten your tooth with braces.
Eventually, the chemicals and everything else could loosen the brackets, or wear away the wires... and it could cause your mouth to be in pain.
I wouldnt do it...
Also... your teeth will be different colors because the whitener cannot get under the cement. i just wouldn't do it =P
Reply:I would wait, then when you get them off, take a trip to the dentist and get them whitened to show off you great teeth!
Reply:eat the foods your supposed to eat when you have braces don't eat the foods that ll stain like ketchup chips but yeah when your braces come off they'll be pretty white .. my sister just got hers taken off and there SO white . but other then that Wait till they come off to whiten them

Reply:Don't whiten them until your braces are off or else you're going to get a really uneven whitening of your teeth. If you whiten them now, you'll be left with "train tracks" on the spots where your braces occupied.
You should also give your teeth some time to adjust after taking them off. I'd say wait about a month after you get them off and, if you still want to whiten them, get them done by a dentist or someone who knows what they're doing since whitening teeth that just went through the process of braces isn't the same as whitening teeth of uniform color.

I don't think there are natural ways to straighten your teeth but If you don't want to get braces because of the look you should get invisalign.

How do I remove stained yellow teeth with braces?
I want to get rid of the yellow stains I have on my teeth but I have braces.. and I heard it is a bad idea to do.. What can I do that will get under the brackets? so that I will be left with no mark and have white teeth even with braces.. i dont really wanan wait till they come off :(
How do I remove stained yellow teeth with braces?
Go have them bleachd.....250.00.....
Reply:dentist and they will clean them.
Reply:floss. i have braces and its a problem. floss and floss and floss
Reply:You just might have to wait, that's what I had to do!
Reply:Visit your dentist. The yellowish part usually is the bonding or the cement underneath your braces stained oby the food you ate. Only the dentist can remove it. Attempting to remove it yourself might dislodge or remove the brackets causing more problems.
Reply:try a mix of baking power and peroxide 2 times a day. make a paste then brush with it. it works. good luck.
Reply:You may want to wait even though you don't want to. I dont' think you can find anything to go under the brackets. They are "glued" to your teeth and penetrating the glue will disrupt the brackets.
Otherwise, if you find a way to get them white, the yellow will remain under the brackets and you will have small yellow spots you your teeth when the braces are removed.
If you wait until they come off, then you will be able to get the entire tooth clean.

Unusual jiggling of teeth with braces?
I have noticed this weird movement a couple of days ago when I looked into the mirror and bit down to brush my teeth. My left central and lateral incisors of the upper arch move up toward the gums whenever I bite. Also, applying pressure with just my finger moves them up. Is this normal? I've had braces for only a month, and I don't really know much about what really is going on in my mouth.
Unusual jiggling of teeth with braces?
Yes, it's definitely normal because the braces are working to make your teeth mobile (able to move) so they can be moved into the desired position.
Reply:Don't worry about it - it just proves that your teeth are moving, which IS the function of braces :)
And, if you are new to braces and want or need to know more about orthodontics, I'd advise you to go to this page and search for answers

iwant to get my teeth some braces becit is not aligned ryt..but do they put some holes on your teeth or some silly things???does it hurt..and will it bring a better SMLE??i hope so00..plssanswers..my dentist said i need to get it bec my teeth s0oo silly..and i want too..BUT IM AFRAID FOR THE HURT!!!my ffriendss said it will hurt for the 1st week..im just 12yrs old though..plss answer!!:)
I WAnt to get some braces to make my teeth prettier..does it hurt!?!!?
dude u get spacers in before the braces, you generally have them for about 8 days or so....7 of which it hurts to eat things then like magic on the 8th day you feel nothing when you eat GREAT TIMING HUH!!!!, lol, then you get the braces and you dont feel them for like the first 4-6 hours then theres pain, and like the spacers it they hurt for roughly 5-10 days afterword, then you get used to them and the pain goes away, best advice SLEEEPPPPPPPP becasue ur body adjusts more during sleep so the more you sleep during that time the fewer days of pain youll have!! at least that was my experience then again i also had tylenol 3 w/codeine from when i broke my wrist that i didnt use then but i used when i got my braces but yeah thats about it.......getum its SOOOOOOO worth it =)
Reply:It only hurts for a little while and the effects are well worth it... I had braces as an adult and wish I had them back when I was a kid so it wouldn't have been so hard on me (teeth already permanently in place). So yes, it will hurt for a bit but not as much as you probably think it will.
Reply:My son had braces, he said it was a little raw the first week, but after that he was used to them.
He has a beautiful smile. Yours will be too, tell mom to check out the new invisable braces.
Reply:It wont hurt the way you are thinking. You will feel more sore than anything. Nothing to worry about.
Talk to your dentist about getting the clear braces that fit over your teeth. you switch them out every 2 weeks or so with a different shaped pair.
Not only are they clear and look much better, but your teeth are moved gradually, giving you even less discomfort.
insurance might not cover it though, check into it.
Reply:No it won't leave any permanent marks or holes as long as you don't use whitening tooth-paste while you have them, or else you will have discolored teeth. Yes, it does hurt for about 2 weeks after you get them, just eat soup or stuff that is very soft until the pain goes away. Unfortunately it will also hurt for a few days after every time you get them tightened. I went through all of this pain in worry but in the end it was all worth it.
Reply:No, having braces isn't painful, but on the monthly adjustments they are quit sore. You can help rid the soreness by getting a soft bristle toothbrush and use it only to massage the gums in a circular motion. It speeds up the blood circulation and eases the soreness alot. You'll have a gorgeous smile after you have completed all the treatments. Always brush and floss. Flossing is more important than brush weather you have braces or not. Good Luck!
PS: You'll smile all the time too and it gives you confidence.
Reply:well what your friends have said are right it will hurt for about a week or so depending on how bad your teeth are.
Reply:they will be sore, but not actually hurt. then during the time you are wearing the braces, it will depend on how your dentist adjusts them during your check ups. get the braces.. you'll be glad you did!!!
Reply:It would hurt, no doubt. But to look pretty when you reach your teen is more important than anything, right? Just that thought alone would get you going.
Reply:It does hurt, but sometimes it doesn't. The first time you get them, it will hurt for the first couple days. I got my braces when I was 10. I was scared too but now I realize that it was so worth it. My teeth drastically changed. When you get it tightened monthly it kind of hurts for a day too if they tighten it a lot. But you can always take painkillers like Advil.
Reply:They hurt like HELL! You have NO idea. OMG! Your whole mouth will hurt. The wires will most likely dig into you at some point and its horrible.
Reply:hi!!

Is there a way to straighten teeth without braces?
My teeth are pretty good, my dentist says I do not need braces. But when I look at them, I dont like them. There are some that aren't really straight and some stick out a very little bit. I also have an overbite. I want my teeth to be perfectly even, straight, and no overbite. How can I do this without getting braces?

invisalign.

they work soooo well for straight teeth, but don't do a whole lot to fix the overbite... but you know, if your overbite isn't a medical concern, embrace it! your smile is what makes you you!
Reply:I've heard that veneers are often used to fix minor problems. They can be used to close gaps between teeth and to make them look more even and straight.

WON'T HAPPEN

Reply:Cosmetic contouring can be used to improve the appearance of teeth. It is ideal if you have slightly crowded teeth. It takes about one hour and is less expensive than other forms of cosmetic treatment. It is not recommended for young children.
Or you can try veneers...
Normal over bite is 2- 3mm,that is the overlapping of upper tooth on lower
